Chilton at Don Strange Ranch

Chilton began playing the guitar at age 5. Within a
couple of years he was playing lead guitar and would sit in with various
bands. When he was 11, he played his first gig at a New Year's Eve
dance in Devine, Texas. He played with his parents at first, but his
brother and sister soon joined the family band called The Texas
Connection. In the early 90's, Chilton started playing the fiddle,
drums, accordion, and bass. He is self-taught and plays by
ear. His singing career didn't begin until early high school, but by
college he was the lead singer of the band. |
